Everyone is trying to adapt to restricted living in order to contain the Coronavirus. A lot of us have been (or are going to start) working from home. We believe that once this is over, we’ll no longer take going out so lightly. In the meantime, here’s a list of places we can travel to while on self-quarantine:
Snacks ready? Get comfy and get ready to be transported to a million places through books and movies. You can even take this time to daydream and make your own stories for yourself and your loved ones (trust us, it’s not just for kids!).
Now that we’re spending more time than ever in our personal space, why not take the time to explore it. We’re pretty sure that most of us will discover things we won’t remember having. Out of sight, out of mind, right? Before stuffing your discovered treasures back into their hidden spaces, consider giving it away or chucking it out since you didn’t even recall owning it in the first place. Perhaps it’s not something you need to keep?
It’s always good to get some exercise in, whether in the morning or in the evening, and a hike is a great way to do it. Since we can’t do it outdoors for now, get moving on those stairs. It’s just as invigorating even though the scenery might not be that interesting. No stairs? No problem! Lean a low stool against something solid and step up and down for a few minutes. It’s not as easy as it sounds…
So, when was the last you actually spent time in your kitchen? Be honest here. And we don’t mean rushing in between or after work to prepare food for yourself or your family. Try out that new recipe you’ve been saying (for years?) that you need to make. Or prepare some comfort food before treating yourself to an unforgettable dining experience. Yes, with a fully set table and everything! The kitchen may not be for everyone, though. If you don’t think you and your kitchen get along, then order in! The bottom line is – take the time to enjoy yourself.
As humans, we can’t stay cooped up within four walls for too long. So, head on to your balcony or garden and spend some time taking in the scenery. We suggest closing your eyes and letting everything wash over you.
This one should be self-explanatory, no? We find ourselves having more time now to sit back and relax on the loo. It is where we get the best ideas. For those of you who love taking bathroom selfies wherever you go and are now going through withdrawals, why not take one (or a few) from your bathroom? We dare you to share it with us 😉
This may have started with the kids in mind but we know that the adults love it too…cos we do! Catch the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanicals Garden’s animals on their Facebook page when they go live!
Celebrities have been live-streaming concerts through various channels in solidarity with all those staying home this COVID-19 season. Check out this (constantly updated) list by Billboard.
Here’s a little something for those of you who enjoy a little more traditional form of concerts. The Met Opera is taking this opportunity to teach everyone a little something and it’s been a good turnout so far! Check out their Twitter page to find out what’s on tonight!
You can even catch Broadway shows from your home (though it’s only free for the first 7 days, so make the most of it) through their website – www.broadwayhd.com! Entertain yourself with something from their extensive list of productions. It’s Netflix for plays 😉
Tip: Combine this with your dine-in dinner reservation to make it even more special
